By installing or using the Quran Extension Chrome browser extension, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Quran Extension ("the Extension"). By using the Extension, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
2. Description of Service
Quran Extension is a free Chrome browser extension that provides:
- Access to the full text of the Holy Quran with translations and transliterations.
- Audio recitation playback from world-class reciters.
- Personal bookmarks with optional cloud sync.
- Daily reading streak tracking and goal setting.
- Community reflections on Quranic verses via Quran Reflect.
- Tafsir (verse commentary) from classical and contemporary scholars.
3. User Accounts
Some features (cloud bookmarks, streak tracking, goal sync) require signing in with a Quran Foundation account. By signing in, you agree to Quran Foundation's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We are not affiliated with or responsible for Quran Foundation's services.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Extension for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Extension's source code for harmful purposes.
- Use the Extension in a way that disrupts or interferes with Quran Foundation's APIs or servers.
- Misrepresent the Quranic content provided by the Extension.
5. Intellectual Property
The Quranic text, translations, audio, and tafsir content are the property of their respective copyright holders (including Quran Foundation and individual scholars). The Extension interface and code are provided under an open-source license. You may not redistribute the Extension under a different name or misrepresent its origin.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Extension is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the content will be free from mistakes. Always verify Quranic content with authoritative printed sources.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Extension.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will update the date at the top of this page when changes are made.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Indonesia, without regard to conflict of law principles.
